At Superbooth 2023, Horst Mayer presented the MD900 Extended Virtual Analog Desktop Synthesizer.
The MD900 is a polyphonic desktop synthesizer, multitimbral with 4 parts. The polyphony of up to 16 voices is shared by 4 multi-timbral parts.
Each of these 4 parts has their own effect stack, including Mod-Delay (flanger, chorus, vibrato), Reverb, Tube-AMP, EQ, LP-Filter, DYNAMIC (Limiter) , Stereo Delay and more.
Key Features:
The overall audio path is stereo. The oscillator, mixer filter, amps and effects are all in stereo.
Four independent arpeggiator and step sequencer are assigned to each of the four synth parts. The trigger sequencer may trigger the built in transient sample player (Drum Kit .wav) or send triggers to MIDI-Out (USB-DIN or USB-MIDI)
The housing is made of aluminum with walnut wood on the front and back.
All components are industrial grade, including precision potentiometers with aluminum covered knobs.
At Superbooth 2023, developer Graham Watson made the Superbooth debut of the Sonocurrent Eurorack module line.
The modules include:
M T2D dual triode distortion – The M T2D dual triode distortion is a Nutube-based distortion module for the Eurorack format, offering two independent channels which can be patched separately for parallel processing, stereo, or multiple sources, or used in series for more complex distortion of a single source (or simply extreme distortion settings).
C GF4 group fader/distributor – The C GF4 group fader/distributor allows a single control of up to four signals, while maintaining the relative levels set by individual attenuators on each channel. Potential applications include use as a macro controller of multiple modulation paths, a variable distributor of a modulation source or control voltage to several destinations, and a group fader control for an audio signal group or stem.
M C3A crossfading array – The M C3A is an array of three voltage-controlled crossfaders. The first two stages are arranged in parallel with their outputs feeding the third, central crossfader. Creative blending of up to four input signals is possible with individual voltage control of each crossfading stage. Individual attenuators for each input are provided to set equal levels (or not…) going into the initial pair of crossfade stages. In addition to the main output, direct outputs from the initial stages are available for more elaborate sound design, or to use those stages together in parallel (stereo patches, for example).
At Superbooth 2023 (and not at Superbooth 2023), Liquid Sky introduced new Eurorack modules.
They planned on debuting two new modules at the event, but fate got in the way:
When our manufacturing partner in Riga sent the “zero series” of our modules 14 days ago for demo video productions and demoing the products at the Superbooth Berlin, we whimsically mused about placing 27 candles in the Cathedral Of Acid to ensure a smooth delivery.
Alas, fate played its tricks, and the modules failed to arrive on time. Consequently, our dazzling new “V4CO” and its accompanying “GLITHc” expander won’t be showcased at the Superbooth. If only we had genuinely lit those stoopid 27 candles in the fkkn Cathedral Of Acid!
They did share details on the new modules, though: The Liquid Sky d-vices V4CO is a dual 8 bit wavetable oscillator, each with separate subbass.
