At the 2025 NAMM Show, being held Jan 21–25 in Anaheim, CA, Behringer is offering a sneak preview of a new synthesizer, the JT-16.
The Behringer JT-16 synthesizer is another one of the company’s ‘flagship knockoff’ designs. It’s designed to be an inexpensive copy of the classic Roland Jupiter-8, but with double the polyphony, and modern connectivity.
The Behringer JT-16 has been in development for several years. It closely follows the the design of the original Roland Jupiter-8, but the copy is scaled down, reflecting the use of modern electronics manufacturing techniques.
The most notable differences from the original are expected to be the reduced size and weight, the expanded polyphony, and modern connectivity around the back: The Behringer JT-16 prototype at NAMM was not plugged in when we visited the booth, so it may be too early in development for them to want to demo it.
Behringer has not announced details on the JT-16 yet, but based on what we currently know, we are not expecting the JT-16 to be available until sometime next year.
At the 2025 NAMM Show, being held Jan 21–25 in Anaheim, CA, Behringer is offering a sneak preview of its Pro-16 synthesizer, which copies the classic Sequential Prophet 5/10.
The Behringer Pro-16 is designed to be an inexpensive copy of the Sequential Prophet 5/10, but with expanded 16-voice polyphony.
Key Features:
16-voice polyphony
Multi-mode filters, providing a wide range of tonal possibilities.
8-mode ‘atrophy’ settings, allowing for extensive modulation and sound-shaping capabilities.
Polyphonic aftertouch keybed.
The Behringer Pro-16 is still in development, so official details are still to be announced.
At the 2025 NAMM Show, held Jan 21–25 in Anaheim, CA, Behringer is previewing the BX1, a new flagship synth that copies the classic Yamaha DX1….but with a twist.
At first glance, the Behringer BX1 looks like a knockoff of the DX1, copying original’s FM synth engine, industrial design and naming. The twist is that the Behringer BX1 is a hybrid design, adding an analog signal path (EG, VCF & VCA) based on the Yamaha CS-80.
So the Behringer BX1 is a flagship instrument that’s effectively a mashup of the DX1 and CS-80, two of Yamaha’s most iconic synthesizers.
Here’s an overview of the Behringer BX1, via Sonic State:
Features:
Flagship synth, based on classic Yamaha DX1;
32-voice polyphony
Hybrid voice architecture, with filter based on the Yamaha CS-80
Effects to be determined.
The Behringer BX1 is in development, so pricing and specifications are to be announced. They are saying not to expect this to be available until next year.
