Mensla has introduced MS-2, a freeware FM synthesizer instrument for Mac and Windows.
The 3-operator synth includes controls for the multi-mode filter and LFO, modulation options (phase, frequency, pan, amplitude, and filter), built-in effects (distortion, delay and reverb), arpeggiator & chord mode, a Lissajous display and more.
MS-2 is available now as a free download for Mac and Windows, in VST3 and AU plugin formats.
AI Synthesis has introduced the AI018 Eurorack Stereo Matrix Mixer, available now with both built and guaranteed and kit options.
AI018 Eurorack Stereo Matrix Mixer is a compact 8-in, 8-out matrix mixer. A matrix mixer is used to route audio or CV signals from multiple sources to different destinations. There are sixteen potentiometers, with each potentiometer controlling the amount a given stereo input pair (1-4) will be sent to a given stereo output (A-D).
A common usage for the AI018 would be as an effects send, with one or more inputs, and one or more effect inputs and outputs. Using the AI018 Stereo Matrix Mixer in this way, inputs can be sent to multiple effects, and the effects can be sent to each other, and even back into themselves, expanding the depth of the effects.

The Arithmophone is a new kind of musical keyboard, designed to make it easy to explore different types of tuning schemes, both just and tempered.
It currently exists in two forms:
The Arithmophone web app is a self-contained instrument that you can play from your computer, tablet or phone. It works best on touchscreen devices in landscape orientation (try an iPad or something of similar size if possible: the bigger the screen, the easier it is to play the keyboards).
The Arithmophone MIDI is a keyboard interface for controlling synthesizers. If you work with a DAW and software instruments, or if you have a hardware synthesizer you’d like to control through your (touchscreen) computer, this might be interesting for you.
Future plans for the Arithmophone project include a native iPad app, with MIDI output, as well as a hardware prototype.
