You can get Native Instruments FM8 synth plugin for just $10

In the pantheon of great soft synth plugins, Native Instruments FM8 ranks rather high. Sounds too good to be true, if we told you could currently buy it for the price of just $10/£12/€12.

FM8 is about 15 years old. Its predecessor, FM7, was released in 2002 – but if you can get past the slightly dated interface it remains a fine source of DX7-inspired sounds.

FM features 960 presets, a powerful FM matrix, an arpeggiator and flexible envelopes. You can take things as deep as you want, but if you want to keep things simple, you can just take care of your editing business on the Easy page.

FM8 is still being sold for its regular price of $149/£129 on the Native Instruments website.

Yet, you really can get Native Instruments’ FM8 synth plugin for just $10 – here’s how?

The trick is to buy it at Plugin Boutique, where it’s currently being offered at a 90% discount, which brings the price down to $10/£12/€12.  May make it a no-brainer purchase (assuming you don’t have it already, of course).

Think about it, this offer runs until 6 September, 2022.

Teenage Engineering revealed MOAD – ‘Mother Of All Decks’ for Swedish House Mafia

Teenage Engineering made the ‘Mother Of All Decks’ for Swedish House Mafia to use at Coachella and beyond.

Teenage Engineering has now revealed something much grander in scale, the MOAD or ‘Mother Of All Decks’ is a new supersized live performance rig that was custom-made for Swedish House Mafia. It made its debut when the EDM-favouring collective used it to perform with The Weekend at Coachella 2022, and will also be used on their US and EU tour.

Well known for creating small music-making device, Teenage Engineering’s relationship with Swedish House Mafia began in 2010, when the band used the then-new OP-1 in the video for their song One, which featured Pharrell Williams. They have remained friends ever since, but MOAD is their first product collaboration.

The unique rig measures 5m x 1.2m and breaks down into nine parts for easy transportation. Assembly time is said to be just 30 minutes, which should please Swedish Home Mafia tour.

Inside you can find a computer (reportedly a Mac mini running NI’s Traktor), multiple mixers, Pioneer DJ decks, a sequencer and samplers, effect processors, custom light effects and mechanical tape reels, and even we can spot a Maschine in there as well.

Besides this, Swedish House Mafia are also currently collaborating with Ikea, on a new range of music-related products for the home. This currently includes a desk, a turntable, an armchair and a range of “remixed” Frakta bags.

In fact, Teenage Engineering has also collaborated with Ikea in the past, and is currently touting its new OP-1 field synth/sampler and the TX-6 mini mixer.

The question is, TX-6 costs £1,200, how much Teenage Engineering MOAD sell for
