CHOMPI Club Joining Chase Bliss

Chase Bliss – maker of high-end effects pedals – has announced that CHOMPI Club, the makers of the CHOMPI sampler, are joining their team.

The CHOMPI is currently sold out, but a new version is in the plans.

Here’s what Chase has to say about it:

  1. Nothing changes for now – All support (questions, repairs, etc.) are being handled by CHOMPI Club as usual, the Discord is still active, and CHOMPI Club are continuing to work on resources and ways to make the CHOMPI sampler even better.
  2. This isn’t the end of the CHOMPI Club, they’re just combining resources.
  3. There will be more CHOMPI – They’re working on another run of the CHOMPI sampler, and it will have some firmware surprises (available for free to existing CHOMPI customers). These will be sold through the Chase Bliss website. The new run is expected to be available later this year.
  4. Chase Bliss will take over support – Once the next batch of CHOMPI goes up for sale, Chase Bliss will take over support of the device. This means CHOMPI owners will now have international support. This will apply to all existing and future CHOMPI owners.

CHOMPI Sampling Keyboard Kickstarter launches, immediately blows past goal

The creators of CHOMPI, a new sampling keyboard that’s designed to make musique concrète style audio manipulation fast and fun, have launched their Kickstarter project to fund production of the device – and it’s already blown past their project goal.

The goal for the project was to raise $30,000, and backers have already committed over $850,000.

CHOMPI is designed to make it easy to sample sounds and play them back, using a built-in keyboard. The interface provides big, dedicated controls for sampling, pitch, sample editing and effects.

CHOMPI also features a looper, so you can record phrases and play over them, and even overdub layers.

The developers is making CHOMPI available via a Kickstarter project, priced at $499 for backers (normally $599).
