Acustica Audio Introduces Squid-3 Synthesizer

Acustica Audio has introduced Squid-3, a major update to its software synthesizer for Mac and Windows.

Acustica says that Squid-3 “is not another virtual synth”, but that it’s “a new breed – designed to sound finished, even before the FX.”

Features:

  • Superstereo – Analog drift that creates stereo depth
  • Berserkr – Continuously tilt from vintage roll-off to full modern clarity
  • Return – Pre-filter feedback adds thickness before the filter sculpts the tone.
  • Drive – Post-filter drive – polyphonic, analog-like tone with no extra FX needed.
  • Sub Osc – Selectable sub waveforms for deep, stable lows.
  • Precision – Sample-accurate event and modulation timing
  • Up-Rate Wave Morphing (UPRM) – Delivers true audio-rate, oversampled waveform morphing
  • Full MPE – True per-note expression with pitch, pressure, and timbre control
  • Studio FX – “Mastering-grade” FX unit including shimmer, reverbs, chorus, delays, distortion, OTT, and EQ

Here’s a no-talk audio demo:

Squid-3 is available now, with an introductory price of €139 until January 14, 2026 (reg. price €199).
