Acustica Audio Introduces Squid-3 Synthesizer
Acustica Audio has introduced Squid-3, a major update to its software synthesizer for Mac and Windows.
Acustica says that Squid-3 “is not another virtual synth”, but that it’s “a new breed – designed to sound finished, even before the FX.”

- Superstereo – Analog drift that creates stereo depth
- Berserkr – Continuously tilt from vintage roll-off to full modern clarity
- Return – Pre-filter feedback adds thickness before the filter sculpts the tone.
- Drive – Post-filter drive – polyphonic, analog-like tone with no extra FX needed.
- Sub Osc – Selectable sub waveforms for deep, stable lows.
- Precision – Sample-accurate event and modulation timing
- Up-Rate Wave Morphing (UPRM) – Delivers true audio-rate, oversampled waveform morphing
- Full MPE – True per-note expression with pitch, pressure, and timbre control
- Studio FX – “Mastering-grade” FX unit including shimmer, reverbs, chorus, delays, distortion, OTT, and EQ
