1010music bluebox Eurorack Edition Mixer debuts at Knobcon 2023

1010music is introducing bluebox Eurorack edition at Knobcon 2023 – a new Eurorack mixer with effects and multichannel recording/playback, based on their bluebox desktop mixer.

The Eurorack version adds new features, like USB-C ports for connecting external MIDI controllers and sending 2 channels of audio to your computer.

Bluebox delivers high-quality mixing, effects and integrated recording and playback in a 30hp Eurorack module. It features a touchscreen and knobs to let you quickly control volume, gain, 4 band parametric EQ, pan, effects, mute/solo and record/play functions for each track.

You can map the 3.5 mm TS inputs to 12 mono tracks or 6 stereo tracks, all with independent control for recording and playback. You can route each track independently to outputs and effects sends. Record independent tracks or the Main mix to a standard microSD card or send/receive audio to your computer via USB-C.

Features:

  • Mix 12 mono/6 stereo tracks of live or prerecorded sound.
  • Independently route each track to any combination of outputs:
  • 4 mono / 2 stereo outputs
  • Stereo headphone output
  • 6 CV inputs for modulation and control
  • 1 analog clock output
  • TRS MIDI input and output
  • USB-C for external MIDI controllers and MIDI sync/clock
  • USB-C for 2 channel audio
  • microSD to record/play hours of multi-track/stereo music as 48k, 24 bit WAVs and for firmware updates
  • Ability to playback pre-recorded tracks while recording new ones
  • Master control of the same mixer parameter across multiple tracks for faster mixes
  • Touchscreen gestures and knobs to quickly and easily tweak parameters
  • Four band EQ per track with Cut/Shelf/Parametric settings for each band
  • Reverb and Delay effects with independent sends for each track
  • Global compressor to maximize loudness and ‘glue’ your mix together
  • Save and recall Project settings, including all parameters for tracks, outputs, EQ and effects

bluebox Eurorack edition will be available in early October, priced at $699.

OXI Instruments introduces Coral Multitimbral Eurorack Synth Module

OXI Instruments has introduced Coral, an 8-voice multitimbral synthesizer module for Eurorack modular synthesizers.

Coral features eight-voice polyphony and several sound engines, letting you create basslines, pads, drums and more – and all at the same time.

Features:

  • Lots of computing power, to deliver rich sounding engines, in an 8-voice package. One voice can have up to 8 oscillators depending on the engine, which means up to 64 oscillators playing at once.
  • Polyphonic – Coral features 8 full voices, with independent filter, amplifier and modulation envelopes.
  • Individual FX sends and individual parameters can be set per voice
  • You can play polyphonically using only 1 CV and 1 Gate. Coral will allocate a new voice every time it reads a new note on the V/Oct input.
  • Multi-engine – Different sound engines can be assigned to each voice from the 10 available.
  • Multipart – The 8 voices can be freely split into different parts. Every single parameter (filter, envelope settings, engine, FX sends, pan, etc.) can be independently set for each part or voice to create complex patches out of the box.
  • Sample Playback – Coral supports almost any kind of wav file: 16, 24 and 32 bit mono and stereo files, with no limit to playback time. You can add overdrive to your samples, sculpt them using the filter and envelopes, pitch them up and down in tune and even modulate the sample file or folder in real time using the CV inputs or CC MIDI commands.
  • Custom Wavetables – You can load any wavetable .wav file to the SD card for the Wavetable engine. The wavetable can be morphed in 3 dimensions. Use OXI Wave APP to create and edit 3D wavetables.
  • MIDI Integration – Control any part’s parameter via MIDI CC, from FXs sends to sample selection.
  • Effects – Space engine to create deep atmospheres and rich ensemble chorus. Every effect send can be set per voice.

Limited stock of Coral is available now, priced at €399.00 (excluding VAT) for EU (European Union) countries (with VAT being added at checkout for individual EU customers) and €459.00 for ROW (Rest Of the World) countries (where duties and taxes may be charged on delivery) with worldwide shipping available.

Analogue Solutions introduces Ample Matrix Synthesizer, New Synth with ‘Genuine Old-School Sound’

Analogue Solutions has introduced Ample, an analog matrix synthesizer that they say “combines the best elements of several of our recent products”, including:

  • The sound elements of Fusebox
  • Jack patch points of Concussor Eurorack
  • Patch pin matrix of Vostok
  • Echo from Dr Strangelove
  • Sequencer and CV touch pads of Generator

Aside from MIDI support, the company say everything else is “totally analogue, using real transistors and op-amps”. There are no CPU-stabilised and quantised circuits, no DCOs, no digital LFOs and no digital EGs.

The circuitry is based on designs dating back to the mid-1970s, so they say that Ample has “a genuine old sound”.

Features:

  • 3x Analogue Oscillators
  • VCO3 can easily be used as a LFO
  • 2x Analogue Low Frequency Oscillator
  • LFO2(/Sync) has a triangle wave output
  • CO3 can be used as an LFO and has Saw, Triangle and Square wave modulation signals
  • Analog Filter – four pole 24bB per octave low pass filter.
  • The VCA can be set to THRU so it is always ‘open’. This allows Ample to be used as an effects processor.
  • 2x Analog Envelopes
  • MIDI support – they say that “MIDI is intentionally kept simple, so you can concentrate on making new sounds and making music, not getting tied up with SYSEX programming. You get the all-important control over filter cut-off using MIDI Velocity.”
  • Patchable External CV Control Sockets
  • Sequencer – Ample has a vintage-style 16-step sequencer.
  • Touch Keys – There are 6 touch keys that each output a set voltage.
  • Echo
