Frequency Central Florian Synthesizer Sneak Preview


Frequency Central shared this preview of Florian, a new synthesizer that they describe as what you’d get “if a Roland SH-2 had a modular baby with an ARP Odyssey, but the midwife was a mad English scientist…”

The name is a tribute to Kraftwerk co-founder Florian Schneider-Esleben.


Features:

  • 2 x XVCO, a discrete VCO based on the Roland 100M design
  • Sub oscillator -1 octave square, -2 octave square, and -2 octave pulse
  • Digital ring modulator, taking VCO1 and VCO2 as it’s X and Y input.
  • Voltage controlled filter offering lowpass, bandpass, and highpass responses, based on Roland 700 multimode filter
  • ADSR based around AS3310 chip, offering normal and inverted outputs as well as CV of level
  • ARP influenced VCA with ADSR/gate/drone options
  • ARP influenced A/R generator with looping option
  • LFO1: triangle
  • LFO2: saw/triangle/ramp with sync option
