Idle Foundry has released CA-72, a free software synthesizer modeled on the published circuit of the Minimoog Model D (c. 1972–73).
Every board was transcribed from the original service documents into SPICE netlists and simulated in ngspice. The real-time model was derived from those simulations and tested against them, factory calibration included.

The video, by developer TinyGreg, demonstrates Model-TG, a free, open-source firmware mod for the Elektron Model:Cycles (OS 1.13) that adds a full Sampler machine and a variety of other new features.

New in the Model-TG alternate firmware:
A Sampler machine on any track: per-pattern samples, sample locks, reverse, a waveform view
Seven playback modes: One shot, Loop, Slice, Granular, Stretch, Pluck and Wave (wavetables)
Slice by equal size, transient or two kinds of manual chopping.
Resampling of a track, the whole mix, or your computer’s audio over USB
Stereo samples, and uploading your own WAVs with Elektron Transfer
