Black Rooster Audio’s RO-SPR spring reverb plugin

Black Rooster Audio goes into psychedelic space with its RO-SPR spring reverb plugin

Black Rooster Audio’s new plugin RO-SPR, promises to add both character and psychedelic flair, giving you a choice of six spring types to work with. Add that vintage spring sound to your guitar, bass, vocal, drum, brass or synth tracks, or try it on any bus or mix channel.

Each of these is modelled on a hardware device and will give you a different kind of sound, which you can fine-tune by adjusting the length and decay. And it enables you to choose from mono, stereo and M2S modes, and there is a 3-band EQ, as well.

The RO-SPR Vintage Spring Reverb Plug-In is available now for PC and Mac in VST/AU/AAX formats.

Cableguys new Shaper plugin brings the Noise, including presets from BT and InsideInfo

Cableguys has now officially announced NoiseShaper, which the company is calling a “dynamic noise designer” plugin.

NoiseShaper features “production-ready” noise sources from the likes of BT, Cyclick and InsideInfo, this enables you to layer these samples onto any sound with a single click. What is more, the built-in dynamic control means that NoiseShaper can react to your music, ‘breathing’ with every beat.

Included noise types include vinyl crackle, electric fizz, console and cassette hiss, bubbling water, retro equipment hum and more. What’s more, you can apply noise when and where where it’s required using the modulation tools – Follow mode syncs it to the beat, while Duck mode fills in the gaps.

In addition, users can also target specific mix elements and design your own rhythmic noise patterns with the drawable LFOs.

NoiseShaper runs on PC and Mac in VST/AU/AAX formats.

Find out more on the Cableguys website.

NoiseShaper is currently available the intro price of $34/€29. It is also available as part of the ShaperBox 2 bundle, which comes with seven other Shapers, as well.

IK Multimedia T-RackS plugin emulates 4 classic Tascam tape machines

IK Multimedia has unveiled the T-RackS Tascam Tape Collection, a collection of mixing and mastering plugins that emulates four classic Tascam tape machines.

IK Multimedia in collaboration with Tascam has developed the T-RackS Tascam Tape Collection, this is designed to impart some analogue flavour into your digital productions.

The collection starts with two machines from Tascam parent company Teac, starting with the A-6100 MKII. This is a mastering recorder from 1973 that is still in demand due to the sonic warmth and color that it can provide.

While, the A-3340S – another early ‘70s machine was used by countless bands to record not just demos, but even complete albums.

Fast forward a decade, the Tascam 388 – a combined 8-channel mixing console and 8-track tape machine in one that was released in 1985. This machine is famed for its warm and characterful sound.

Lastly, the Tascam Porta One Ministudio. This 1984 machine is Tascam’s best selling PortaStudio, and helped to bring home recording to the masses. It remains popular due to its lo-fi sound, and is used both for sonic experimentation and performance.

Each of the four machines has input and output level controls, selectable input and reproduction audio paths, and the option to choose your tape formulation, with each offers its own sonic character. There is also an alignment section that enables you to experiment with different bias levels, recording levels to tape and recording and playback EQs.

In addition, there are also several features from IK’s Tape Machine Collection; the Transport Modelling function, which reproduces the small inaccuracies of the tape position in front of the head for extra realism; and True Stereo operation, which recreates the stereo image effect produced by the subtle differences between the left and right channels.

The T-RackS Tascam Tape Collection can work either as a standalone VST/AU/AAX plugin or inside the T-RackS 5 shell.

Find out more on the IK Multimedia website.

The T-RackS TASCAM individual tape machine plugins is available now at price of $200/€200.  Each machine can also be purchased separately for $100/€100.
