Sequential Take 5 Synthesizer v2.0 Software Update expands Patch Memory + Synthesis Options, Effects and More

Sequential has released Take 5 v2.0, a free update that expands the synthesis and performance capabilities of their portable polysynth.

New in Sequential Take 5 v2.0:

  • The Take 5 update includes an additional 128 Preset and 128 User memory locations, doubling the previous sound bank size. The Factory bank expansion is filled with new sounds, created by some of the world’s leading sound designers and synthesists. These sounds range from classic analog-style patches to modern, cinematic soundscapes.
  • Take 5 v2.0 also provides new synthesis options. These include capabilities like Envelope Repeat, which allows users to create evolving and complex sounds by looping sections of the synth’s envelopes, and LFO Slew, which smooths over wave shapes to enable more organic and musical modulations. These are especially useful for creating ambient, drone, and experimental sounds, adding new dimensions to any performance.
  • A new Lo-Fi effect emulates the sound of time-worn analog tape machines. Featuring controls for wow and flutter, playback head azimuth, and tape drive amount, the Lo- Fi effect can be used to add anything from a gritty character, through to a full-blown “busted tape deck” vibe.

The Take 5 v2.0 software update is available now as a free download for all Take 5 owners at the Sequential website.

Expressive E reopens reservations for Osmose Synthesizer, shares 2 New videos

Expressive E informs us that they have reopened reservations for the Osmose expressive synthesizer.

The release of the Osmose was delayed by global supply-chain issues, but the company started shipments at the beginning of this year.

In conjunction with the announcement, Expressive E released two new videos, showing how Jean-Michel Jarre and t.nava (Free Nationals, Anderson .Paak) are using the Osmose in their work:
