2023 NAMM Show News: Jamstik introduces 22-fret Electric MIDI Guitar

Ahead of the 2023 NAMM Show, being held Thu, Apr 13, 2023 – Sat, Apr 15, 2023 in Anaheim, CA, Jamstik has announced that they will be heading to NAMM Show, introducing the Jamstik Classic MIDI Guitar, a new 22-fret electric MIDI guitar.

The Jamstik Classic MIDI Guitar has the same MIDI guitar technology as their headless Studio MIDI Guitar, but in a more traditional form factor. It features an alder wood body, roasted maple neck and fretboard, hardtail bridge, and locking tuners.

According to the company, “the Studio MIDI guitar line represents the state-of-the-art MIDI guitar performance, built into a convenient all-in-one solution.”

The electric guitar features an HSS pickup configuration, 5-position toggle pickup switching, 2 tone knobs, 1 volume knob, and a standard 1/4” out. Wired MIDI-out options include a USB-C to USB-A cable or a 3.5mm TRS-MIDI cable. You can also connect wirelessly via Bluetooth.

Includes: Bundled Jamstik Creator software for Mac or PC (downloaded separately), custom padded gig bag, required USB-C to USB-A cable & adapter, 3.5mm TRS-MIDI cable, Strap Locks, Allen Keys, Manual, & Guitar Pick.

In addition to the Classic MIDI Guitar, Jamstick shared other news:

  • They now have 7 free and paid sound expansion packs for Jamstik Creator, including a series of packs built in collaboration with Samples From Mars.
  • iOS App: They have released a mobile app for adjusting settings on the fly, called Jamstik Control. An Android version is coming in a few weeks.
  • AAX Plugin: They’re introducing a new AAX version of Jamstik Creator for Pro Tools.

The Jamstik Classic MIDI Guitar is available now, price at $899.

New Plugin, Jotter, enables you add Timecode-linked, Collaborative Notation in your DAW

NUGEN Audio has introduced Jotter, a new note-taking and collaboration plugin that lets you collaborate in your DAW with other users, anywhere in the world.

Simply insert Jotter anywhere in your project, and add annotations locked to the timecode. These can be shared between collaborators either via the plug-in, or via an exported .csv file. Jotter can also be used as a standalone application in situations where a DAW is either unavailable or simply not required.

“In audio, it’s easy to get lost in the ideas you have for editing, timing and automation,” says Freddy Vinehill-Cliffe, Product Specialist, NUGEN Audio. “With Jotter, you can stay organized with notes and to-do lists inside your DAW, right on the project timeline. Whether you need a more straightforward way for clients to share suggested changes or you’d simply like to keep your workflow more organized, Jotter can help.”

In addition to the fully licensed plug-in solution that can be integrated directly into Pro Tools or other DAWs, the Jotter software is also available as a free standalone version that includes the same management tools and can be used by clients and other collaborators.

Jotter is available now for $49.
