The free apps include some of the best software synths and effects available on iOS.
Moog has just made all of its iOS apps – Model 15, Minimoog Model D, Animoog and Filtatron – available for free, in honor of the late Bob Moog‘s birthday (May 23, 1934).
The Model 15 also runs as a Mac AUv3 plugin in Logic and GarageBand. Model 15 also runs as an AUv3 plugin in Logic, GarageBand and Mainstage, though only if you have macOS Big Sur.

In celebration of their recent alliance, iZotope and Native Instruments have announced that they are giving away two of their products – Ozone Elements and Hybrid Keys – for free. The Companies celebrate new alliance with a double giveaway, and there is a free $25 voucher for each of their stores, too
This promotion kicks off iZotope annual Community Appreciation campaign. You are entitle to have $25 off at both companies’ online shops.
Ozone Elements is the entry-level version of iZotope lauded mastering plugin, and gives you the tools you need to give your tracks that final polish. These include the iZotope Master Assistant – an EQ, a stereo imaging tool and, to optimise loudness, the Ozone Maximizer.
Whereas, Hybrid Keys is a more experimental offering, delivering unconventional keyboard sounds that are designed for melodic duties in particular. There are plenty of presets, macros, and deeper editing features for those who want to get under the hood.
You can download Ozone Elements and Hybrid Keys for free via the iZotope or Native Instruments website. The vouchers can’t be used on any product that’s already on special offer, and are valid until 30 June 2021.
1V/Oct has launched a Kickstarter project to fund production of a new Eurorack wavetable synth module, The Centre.
Software synths often pay homage to hardware ones but, The Centre is a Eurorack module that turns this idea on its head by taking inspiration from a VST plugin – Xfer Records’ Serum.
Could this wavetable synth be the closest you will get to a Eurorack version of Serum?
It became life as a prototype wavetable oscillator, but has ended up as a fully-fledged synth with LFOs, LFO shapes, envelopes, digital filters, voltage-controlled amps and effects.
Developer 1V/OCT says that, while it doesn’t try to mimic Serum, The Centre has a similar sound, and can import Serum and Dune 2 compatible wavetables.
Features:
Polyphony (up to 4 voices of polyphony all controlled independently from V/OCT inputs)
Wavetable Oscillator with Unison/Detune/Warp
LFO with Sine, Square and Triangle output that can be freely controlled
VCO standard high resolution oscillators with Sine, Square and Triangle
Low Frequency Shaper – Shapes – shapes for low frequency modulations (Serum file-format shapes can be imported)
AHDSR Envelope
Filters (Bi-Quad and Diode Ladder)
Drum Racks – MIDI powered drum sets playing sampled drums
Sample playback controlled by Gate or MIDI
Clocks, MIDI clocks, gate dividers
Ring Modulator
Wave Folder
Digital VCA – Voltage Controlled Amplifier
Simple Multiband Compressor
3-Band Equalizer
The Centre is available to project backers as a Eurorack module or as a compact semi-modular synth. It is available to project backers, starting at about $390.
