The Akai Professional MAX25 Keyboard Controller features a 25-key USB/MIDI/CV Controller with Semi-weighted Action, Aftertouch, CV/Gate Outputs, 8 x MPC Pads, 4 x Touch Faders, and Akai Connect Mapping Software.
The MAX25 comes with AkaiConnect automatic-mapping software and Mackie Control® and HUI® modes for instant compatibility with many DAWs. The MAX25 also features an expanded arpeggiator and a step sequencer, which is ideal for sequencing effects. There are also inputs for footpedals for adding sustain, making the MAX25 ideal for dedicated keyboard players as well as synth-lovers and music producer.
This new addition to Akai’s Max series offers the same great feeling keyboard but in a compact package that will fit perfectly in front of a laptop on stage. The difference between MAX49 and MAX25 only lies in the number of onboard controls.

Akai Professional unveiled the MPK mini, a USB keyboard and pad controller at the recent 2010 BPM EXPO in Birmingham, England. The Akai MPK Mini features 25-note Semi-weighted mini keyboard, custom LCD display; 8 back-lit, Arpeggiator, MPC-style pads, 8 assignable Q-Link knobs, Octave Up and Down, Tap-Tempo and Sustain buttons.
The Akai MPK mini strikes the perfect balance between portability and comprehensive software control by combining both the complete control with the grab-and-go convenience offered in its popular Akai LPK25 and Akai LPD8. The MPK mini keyboard is perfect for quickly entering notes and phrases into a computer additionally, is velocity-sensitive. The dedicated Octave Up and Down buttons instantly access different pitch ranges. The sustain button should take on all new uses, particularly for editing, with all of the pads to press and knobs to twist until that perfect sound appears. The built-in Arpeggiator is to create sparkling, staccato leads and driving bass-lines in a variety of time denominations and patterns. The eight back-lit, velocity-sensitive pads are great for firing one-shot samples and sequencing drum patterns. The pads can send note information, MIDI CCs, or even program changes, and pressing the Bank button will instantly toggle between 2 banks of pads to a total of 16 pads.
Additionally, the Akai MPK mini has 8 assignable Q-Link knobs to control virtually any software parameter. The portable keyboard works plug-and-play with Mac and PC and requires no software driver installation for operation. The Akai SynthStation25 keyboard controller transforms your iPhone into a portable music production studio for mobile music creation. The SynthStation25 features 25 velocity sensitive, synth-action keys, a built-in dock for the iPhone, pitch and modulation wheels, physical control buttons, audio out and headphone out.
The SynthStation25 is designed to work well with the Akai Professional SynthStation Studio app as well as other MIDI software. The SynthStaton Studio app is the Apple iPhone application that is available exclusively from Akai. It is a 3 powerful virtual analog synthesizers application each with different 3 oscillators synths and drum kits. The SynthStation app enable musicians to sequence, build songs and change all just like a typical sequencer, play your keys and mess with all your settings of your synths. The two separate products when work together will transform the iPhone into a professional musical instrument.
Similarly, if you intend to use the controller as a standalone midi controller, all you need to do is to remove the iPhone from the dock and you can use it with any MIDI software you like.
