PPG Modular System 300 Reissue Debuts At SynthFest France
At SynthFest France, held April 17-19, 2026, a reissue of the PPG Modular System 300 will debut, from the same team that’s behind the PPG 1002 reissue.
The developers say that the PPG Modular 300 is a faithful recreation of the original, developed by Wolfgang Palm in Hamburg starting in 1975. The original was used by artists like Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze.
They note these key features of the PPG Modular System 300:
- Precision: Ultra-fast envelopes and oscillators, with exceptional tracking across multiple octaves.
- Transparency: A defined, powerful sound that remains clear even in complex patches, never becoming “muddy.”
- Dynamics: Discrete VCA and filter stages that react vibrantly to control voltages, providing the “punch” associated with early Berlin School electronic music.
