A Love Song to the Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteritas Alter – R.I.P. BIA
Synthesist Justin Lin, aka Bilijie, shared this ‘love song’ to the Basimilus Iteritas Alter – one of the recently discontinued members of Noise Engineering ‘Iteritas’ line of Eurorack modules.
Noise Engineering’s Iteritas line was designed around a CPU that has been discontinued, forcing them to retire most of the modules in this line.
The Basimilus Iteritas Alter is a complex drum voice, featuring six oscillators and a noise source, with voltage control of every parameter.
“As a testament to its power, its versatility, and its simple strange beauty, I offer this humble tribute to one of the most iconic sounds in modular synthesis,” says Lin.
