64 Custom Sounds for GS Music E7 Synthesizer

Canadian producer and sound designer Miles Away has released a new sound library for the GS Music E7 synthesizer, designed to showcase the synth’s “incredibly lush and power analog sound”.

“The E7 may be still relatively new and lesser-known, but it is, in my opinion, already a future classic analog synth,” he notes. “Hopefully these patches can assist you in getting even more out of this incredible instrument!”

The patches range in styles, including massive keyboard sounds, lush analog pads, deep basses, scorching leads, and more.

64 Custom Patches for GS Music E7 is available now for $30.

Rando, A Simple Inspirational Randomizing Sampler

You can rediscover your forgotten sounds with Rando, a simple sampler plugin that lays a random selection across your MIDI keyboard or piano roll.

Perhaps, many of us have huge sample collections, but how many of these sounds do you actually use? Not many, reckons software developer MonkeyC, which is why it has released Rando, a new lightweight sampler plugin that’s designed to bring you back to sounds that you would forgotten you even had.

The idea is simple: you point Rando at any or all of your sample folders and then let it assign a random selection to notes on your MIDI keyboard and in your piano roll. You can narrow down your selections by text, type and category, but as a rule, unpredictability is something that this plugin revels in.

The good news is that tonal samples are automatically tuned and rhythmic ones timestretched to tempo. There are basic sampler editing functions, a chromatic mode that pitches a sound across the keyboard, and a Life control that adds analogue-style drift.

You also have six global effects to play with – filter, chorus, distortion, crush, delay and reverb – and there’s a sequencer section with a randomisation function that will automatically generate patterns.

Available now for PC and Mac, Rando runs in VST/AU/AAX formats and has an introductory price of $49. This will apply until 2 April, after which it will rise to $69.

Auto Fills, New App Creates Unique Drum Fills Automatically

Developer Cem Olcay let us know that he has released a new iOS and macOS/Apple Silicon app, Auto Fills, designed specifically for generating unique drum fills.

“Auto Fills is a random MIDI generator for creating drum fills. You can generate drum fills for your drum synth apps or hardware quickly and let it roll every once in a while. It works on iOS and Apple Silicon.”

It works as an Audio Unit AUv3 plugin, with supported host apps, such as AUM, Loopy Pro, Logic Pro, Cubasis, Nanostudio, apeMatrix etc.

In Auto Fills, you are working with a drum kit. You can either create the kit by adding drum parts and assigning them MIDI notes/channels yourself, or you can select a kit template from the settings menu for an app or hardware for quick setup.

In Kit mode, you can assign a probability value to each drum part.

In Velocity mode, you can assign a velocity to each drum part, and you can also introduce velocity variety for them.

In Duration mode, you can set the drum fill length as well as the waiting time before and/or after the drum fill, in beats or bars.

If you’ve set “wait before the fill” and/or “wait after the fill” durations in the Duration mode, the drum fill won’t be played during the waiting periods.
