Waves Audio is now shipping the Waves Key Detector plugin, an AI-powered tool capable of precise key detection for any sample, track or full mix.
Waves Key Detector is designed to streamline workflows for Waves users, by integrating seamlessly with Waves vocal tuning and harmonizing plugins, in addition to finding the key of a track.
Using Key Detector is simple: just insert Key Detector, play the track, and let the plugin’s neural networks engine analyze the track: In seconds, you will receive the song’s key / scale. Key Detector can give you the accurate key, even if the track is slightly off-key. Key Detector will even suggest the two next most likely scales.
In addition to finding the key of any track, Key Detector can transmit the detected key to Waves Tune Real-Time , Waves Tune, Waves Harmony, and OVox Vocal ReSynthesis plugins.
Features:
Can analyze any audio source: single melodic lines, Multi instrument samples, or full mixes
Precise key detection powered by Waves Neural Networks®
Saves time and manual work: intuitive and easy
Transmits the key to Waves Tune Real-Time, Waves Tune, OVox and Waves Harmony (latest v14 version)
Multiband compression can be an extremely useful tool, giving you the option to add different levels of compression to different frequency bands. However, if you don’t know what you’re doing, it can also be very confusing, which is why Devious Machines has released its Multiband X6 plugin.
Billed as a “modern dynamics plugin”, this approaches multiband compression in a different way, enabling you to dial in your compression using macro controls and then tweak individual bands to taste. You can choose from three compression modes – Smooth, Crunch and Punch – each of which has a different musical flavour.
Devious Machines says that, while Multiband X6 can emulate the sound of classic compressors, its sonic palette extends much wide. In addition, there’s an expansion mode that can be used for boosting transients or reducing noise.
Multiband X6 can be used on individual tracks or for mastering purposes, and is said to be powered by a low-latency, low-CPU engine. It is available now (PC/Mac, VST/AU/AAX) and costs £79.99/$100.
