ContinuuCon 2023 Call for Presentations

Organizers of ContinuuCon 2023, the fifth international Haken Audio Continuum conference, taking place May 17–19 in Palmela, Portugal, are looking for presenters for this year’s event.

They’ve issued a Call for Presentations to anyone interested in presenting a program, staging a workshop, or giving a demonstration directly related to the Haken Continuum Fingerboard, ContinuuMini, EaganMatrix Module for Eurorack, or Expressive E Osmose synthesizer.

Scheduled presenters so far this year include Lippold Haken, inventor of the Continuum Fingerboard and ContinuuMini, Edmund Eagan, developer of the onboard synthesis engine the EaganMatrix, and Guillaume Bonneau, Expressive E’s principal sound designer. Christophe Dusquesne of Haken Audio and La Voix du Luthier, multi-instrumentalist Rob Schwimmer, Finnish composer Benedict Slotte, and University of Wisconsin professor Daniel Grabois will also be presenting.

If you have an idea for a presentation, you can submit an informal proposal to continuucon2023@passosecompassos.pt. Presentations should be 30, 45, or 60 minutes in length. The organizers have not set a fixed deadline, but they say that time and space are limited.

Submitting a proposal will give you the opportunity to share your ideas, experiences, and insights with conference attendees. Organizers will judge proposals based on the relevance, quality, and focus, and whether the presentation is educational or practical in nature. Sales presentations will not be accepted.

Event tickets are also now on sale at the website continuucon.com. Ticketholders may attend an opening night reception, two days of conference proceedings, a celebratory dinner, and a Friday night concert. A ticket for the entire event will cost €250, and +1 tickets (which exclude the conference proceedings) are available for €150.
