Black Corporation has introduced XERXUS MK2, a new version of their XERXES 8-voice analog synthesizer. And Black Corporation has opened pre-orders for their new version MK2.
The XERXES features digitally controlled analog oscillators per voice, a multimode analog filter, white and pink noise generator, 2 ADSR envelopes, 2 sync-able LFOs, unique analog BBD chorus with 3 modes, full MPE-based polyphonic aftertouch, and complete MIDI control, including polyphonic aftertouch and MPE.
“We are starting the preorder for our second run of XERXES, which will also be getting the MK2 treatment,” notes Black Corporation’s Roman Filippov. “Because of the semiconductor shortage and their increased prices, this run will be limited to 100 black edition units and we are required to raise the market price of the synth. To make up for the price increase, the new and improved XERXES will have a completely updated VCA section, balanced outputs, and audio over USB, in addition to several improvements under the hood.”
The XERXES MK2 is available to pre-order, with a total price of $4499, including worldwide shipping.
Softube channels Roland SH-101 for its Model 82 synth plugin.
Model 82, the latest instrument plugin from the Softube stable, is designed to emulate Roland’s classic SH-101.
Roland SH- 101 was released in 1982, and Model 82 interface both give the game away, as does the majority of the feature set. You don’t need to be a synth historian to work out that Model 82, Softube’s plugin is said to precisely model the sound of the hardware while making the sequencer and arpeggiator more DAW-friendly.
Other additional features include drive and stereo doubling, but it’s more like a nostalgia, like the original red, silver and blue colour schemes are emulated. As well as the standard version of Model 82, those who buy it will also get five modules to run in Softube Modular.
Model 82 is available for the introductory price of $79 until July 31st 2022 (regular price will be $99) and runs on PC and Mac in VST/AU/AAX formats.
Sound designer Jexus shared these audio demos for their new collection of 128 custom sounds for the UDO Super 6 synthesizer.
The videos are more than a preview of the sound library, though – they do a great job of demonstrating the range of sonic possibilities of the Super 6.
Jexus describes the sound of the UDO Super 6 as 100% eargasmic, adding “The warmth, depth & smoothness of the Super-6 sound is one of a kind, there’s nothing else quite like it in the synth world. “
