Supercritical Redshift 6 Firmware Update Adds MPE, Arpeggiator, Multi-part Editing + More


Supercritical let us know that they’ve released a free firmware update for the Redshift 6.

Firmware Update 1.4 introduces MPE, an arpeggiator, multi-part editing for multitimbral patches, new oscillator waveform variants, envelope reset option, and a Sample & Hold waveform for the LFO. There are also 18 new factory presets to showcase the arpeggiator and more.

The arpeggiator is per part, so each part can have its own dedicated arpeggiator. In practice this means six independently running arpeggiators when all six multitimbral parts are in use.

What’s New in Redshift 6 Firmware v1.4:

  • New Features:
    • MPE
    • Arpeggiator
    • Multi-part editing for multitimbral patches
    • New oscillator waveform variants that reset on incoming note
    • Envelopes now have a Reset parameter
    • LFOs now have a Sample & Hold waveform
  • Improvements:
    • LFO range is now 0.01-1000Hz, up from 0.1-100Hz
    • 18 new factory presets
  • Fixed:
    • Fixed all known bugs
