Elektron Digitakt II OS 1.15 Adds Sample Slicing + More

Elektron has released Digitakt II OS 1.15, a free update that adds sample slicing and more.

Digitakt II users can now divide a loop into a maximum of 64 slices. As well as applying an equally-divided slice layout, users can also engage the new Transient mode in order to slice a loop by its transient peaks.

The new machine also comes with a Slice editor, which lets users adjust the start, end and loop points of every sample. A link mode allows adjacent slices to be edited in unison.

As well as offering new ways to divide and edit slices, the OS update also adds Slice-friendly features to Digitakt II’s versatile sequencer, including features designed to make it easy to sequence and randomise slices.

In addition to broadening the capabilities of what Digitakt II can do, the new Slice machine also adds a further dividing line differentiating it from its predecessor.

New in Digitakt II OS 1.15:

  • Slice machine – Chop up and use your sample slices however you like, opening up for new rhythmic and melodic exploration.
  • Cut your samples up into as many as 64 editable slices. Deconstruct loops for wild implementation across your sequencer, and tap into unpredictable beat and melody variations.
  • Create slice grid – Choose how many slices you want on your plate by placing an equally divided slice layout over the current sample. Or enable transient detection to adjust the slices according to your sample’s peaks
  • Edit slice points – Use the slice editor to precisely adjust start, end, and loop markers for each and every sample. Link or unlink adjacent slices for creative control.
  • Random or Linear Locks – Assign slices to existing sequencer trigs – randomly for glitchy grooves, or linearly for straighter cuts.
  • Slice Trig Mode – Easily access your different slices using the trig keys, with the ability to reach every single one even if you’ve gone for the max number of slices.

Digitakt II 1.15 is available now to download.
