New Documentary, Muzix Non-Stop, Looks At Creator Of The World’s First Hybrid MIDI Multitrack Composition System
A new documentary that looks at the creator of the first commercial MIDI hardware/software multitrack composing system for personal computers, Muzix Non Stop, debuts Nov 13, 2025 in New York.
Directed by Ors Koblicska, the film looks at the life of Andras Szalay, developer of Muzix-81, a hybrid music system, based on the Sinclair ZX81 home computer.

Muzix Non Stop follows Szalay’s career from his childhood in a nuclear laboratory to creating more than 50 analog and digital instruments for the international market. The documentary also looks at his musical career with Panta Rhei, a progressive rock band that achieved fame in Hungary.
The film features interviews with people from around the world, including David Cockerell (EMS, Akai), Dave Rossum (E-mu Systems), Dana Massie (Apple), Paul Reed Smith (PRS), Mohini Dey, the bass guitar legend, Dub FX and many more.
