UVI has released Workstation 4, a major update to their free soundware player.
UVI Workstation 4 features a refined user interface and powerful workflow enhancements, including a redesigned browser, preset tags, audio previews, and the new UVI Starter soundpack.

Sonixinema has released Delicate Strings, a free strings virtual instrument.
Delicate Strings features the sound of a 14-piece chamber string ensemble. It works with the free Kontakt Player. You can preview it view the overview video, embedded above.

Analoguesque Sound Designs let us know that they’ve updated their collection of free sounds for the ASM Hydrasynth family of synthesizers, and they shared a new video preview.
They say that they’ve made a variety of updates an improvements to the sound banks:
“Edits and tweaks were done to improve many of the patches, and additional macro knob programming was added.
There is quite a lot of Macro knob programming, so you can adjust the timbre of most sounds subtly or even drastically. This is great for adding color and nuance to the percussive sounds like snares, hats, kicks and cymbals, and also great for completely transforming synth sounds from string into brass or bells. There’s a lot of color variation when using the macros.”
