CLANK Uranograph u-Tonal Multi-Expressive Instrument At Superbooth 2025

At Superbooth 2025, held May 8-10 at the FEZ-Berlin, CLANK introduced the Uranograph u-Tonal Multi-Expressive Instrument.

They describe Uranograph as “a musical instrument that merges the expressive depth of classical instruments with the limitless possibilities of synthesis”.

Its capacitive tactile keys, instant note articulation, and MPE-inspired keyboard are designed to encourage musicians to develop a deep connection with its behavior, refine its technique, and master its nuances.

Designed as a self-contained sonic ecosystem, Uranograph integrates an extensive 5 voices synthesis core, FX processing (both for internal and external sources), and looping.

Features:

  • The Keyboards – Stainless steel touch plates provide a sensitive playing experience, responding to the most delicate gestures with precision. Uranograph’s capacitive surface allows immediate, fluid articulation, enabling new microtonal performance, dynamic phrasing, and real-time sound shaping possibilities.
  • Velocity & Aftertouch Sensitivity – Uranograph’s keyboard is highly responsive to touch, velocity, and aftertouch pressure.
Each press translates into a continuous, organic sound variation, making it possible to shape phrases naturally, much like on stringed or wind instruments. By default, pressure is routed to the instrument’s VCA/filter, and the envelope sustains level volume. An additional routing can be set to send the intensity of pressure to whatever other parameters you prefer, a dedicated knob is also implemented for instant control of the amount of this. The continuous pressure-sensitive surface offers a playing experience closer to acoustic instruments, bridging the gap between electronic synthesis and natural musical expression.
  • Microtonal Flexibility & Custom Tuning – Each key can be easily assigned to any pitch or pure frequency, offering complete keyboard design and tuning flexibility. Whether adhering to traditional Western tuning, exploring Arabic maqams, Indian ragas, Just Intonation, or experimental microtonal divisions, Uranograph provides an expansive range of tonal possibilities.
  • Preloaded with 50+ keyboard layouts – Customizable keyboards allow users to design and store personalized layouts. Instant recall ensures seamless transitions between different tonal systems. This adaptability makes Uranograph an ideal instrument for non-standard tuning, enabling deep engagement with diverse musical traditions and avant-garde soundscapes.
  • Control Keyboard: Real-Time Sound Shaping – Beyond pitch control, Uranograph features a dedicated control keyboard designed for dynamic, hands-on sound transformation. Unlike traditional mod wheels or faders, this touch-based control surface enables intuitive, real-time interaction with synthesis parameters, allowing for expressive, gestural modulation.
  • Synthesis Core – Uranograph’s core is built on additive and phase morphing synthesis, offering an innovative approach to shaping its five oscillators. The primary sound source is a core oscillator that starts as a pure sine wave and transforms through multiple synthesis techniques, generating a spectrum of timbres from warm, organic tones to sharp, digital textures. Uranograph provides multiple methods to modify the primary sine wave, introducing even and odd harmonics and sidebands, shaping both harmonic and inharmonic spectra. By altering the phase of a sine wave without changing its fundamental frequency, Uranograph transforms simple waveforms into dynamically evolving textures that range from warm and bell-like to metallic and aggressive.
  • Effects – Built-in effects include delay, reverb and looping.

The CLANK Uranograph is available to pre-order, with an intro price of €1,552.00 (normally €2,240.00).

muSonics Continuo Arpeggiator At Superbooth 2025

At Superbooth 2025, held May 8-10 at the FEZ-Berlin, muSonics was presenting the Continuo arpeggiator sequencer.

The Continuo is a standalone hardware arpeggiator sequencer that expands on classic synth arpeggiators, offering flexible control, sequencing, polyphonic features and more.

This video, via Jonathan Knightsnare, features Amos Gaynes offering an overview and demo of the Continuo.

The Continuo is currently available as a public beta in Moog format, and takes up 4 spaces. muSonics plans for the final version to be available in a more compact, standalone format.

See the muSonics site for details.

Tiptop Audio Introduces OCTOLFO, Multipass, & Resonator Eurorack Modules At Superbooth 2025

At Superbooth 2025, held May 8-10 at the FEZ-Berlin, Tiptop Audio introduced three new modules, OCTOLFO, Multipass, & Resonator.

Here are the details on each of the new modules:

The OCTOLFO, above, is part of Tiptop’s ART range of polyphonic modules, and offers eight-voice voltage-controlled LFOs. For all Eurorack synth owners, the module packs a lot of LFOs into a compact package. If you’re using ART, the module lets you make the jump to modulating polyphonically.

The Octolfo featureseight fully-independent LFOs with plenty of controls, lots of waveforms, and even the ability to load your own waveshapes. Clock-sync it or let it free-run. Use one-shot cycles of waveforms to create unique envelopes, and reset LFO cycles from your notes. All eight LFOs are available simultaneously on regular jacks and Polytip jacks—both outputs and CV control inputs. CV is mappable to parameters, and the entire setup can be saved as a “preset.”

Multipass is an Eight-Voice Multimode Filter in their ART line. This is based on the OB-X filter design (not the later CEM-based OB-Xa). It features extended signal levels on inputs and outputs for an even broader tone range. LP, BP, and HP modes are poly-voltage controlled and simultaneously available per voice through Polytip, and via a mixed output jack. Each filter mode has manual gain control via dedicated faders. Frequency control is polyphonic and can be over-modulated by a mono signal with adjustable scaling.

Resonator is an extended design, based on the analog resonator from the 1975 Polymoog synthesizer.

Tiptop says that Resonator works with everything from drums to polyphonic audio, adding lush resonating swirls.

It features three resonators, each with a selectable band. Each has voltage control for every parameter, nine CV inputs in total. Multiple gain stages (master input, resonator gain, and mix output) allow fine control and help manage clipping.

Emphasis CV range boundaries prevent runaway self-oscillation. A true-bypass switch makes it easy to compare processed and dry signals—perfect for leaving it patched in and engaging ononly when needed.

Details are to be announced, but they expect all three modules to be shipping ‘soon’.
