ALM has shared this video intro for their new Quaid Gigaslope four-channel multi-mode modulator for Eurorack modular systems.
Each channel outputs a variable-staged slope that can act as a complex envelope, flexible LFO, or step sequence.
Each slope can contain up to 13 stages, which may be independent or overlap with other stages. Slopes can be triggered or run freely, with both manual and CV control over each stage’s level, duration, and curve.
The output range of each slope can be set and optionally quantized to musical scales. Trigger outputs are available at the end of each stage and at the completion of a slope.
Features:
Quad multimode modulator with complex Envelope, LFO and Step Sequencer modes.
13 modulation stages shared or split between slopes.
Per stage dedicated Level, Time and Curve controls.
Per slope Quantizer with 19 different scales.
Selectable output ranges of ±5V, 0-5V or 0-2.5V.
Assignable ‘EOC’ (End of Cycle) or ‘EOS’ (End of Stage) trigger outputs.
4 freely assignable CV inputs.
AXON CV expander support for 4 additional CV inputs.
Performance-oriented interface.
All states preserved across power cycles.
USB-C for quick and easy ‘drag and drop’ firmware updates
Elektron has updated Tonverk OS to version 1.3.0, adding Wavefinder, a wavetable synthesis Machine that greatly expands Tonverk’s sonic possibilities.
New in Elektron Tonverk OS 1.3.0:
Wavefinder – Wavefinder gives you two independent wavetable oscillators that can be modulated and blended. Dive in and shape your tone by picking your wavetables and using position to find the perfect wave, and level to find the perfect mix. Set tune and detune, and then modulate your position and level by choosing one of the 12 wavetable animations, with further modulation controls available. All of this works together to unlock deeper layers of movement and expression, further increased by the ability to add your own wavetables.
Subtrack Choking – Your Subtracks now come with chokes. Each Subtrack can be assigned so that as soon as they are triggered they immediately silence other Subtracks.
Arp Parameter Locks & Randomization – Tonverk’s arpeggiator gets a pair of power-ups to make it an even more useful and experimental tool. You can now – for the very first time – parameter lock tweaks to arp settings. Additionally, when in Live Recording mode, any parameter changes can be captured into the sequence. And, you can also randomize the arp page, letting you instantly generate arpeggios that can be wild and occasionally wonderful.
Page Looping – Hold the page button when in grid recording mode, press arrow up or down, then pick your page via the trigs. Easily jump straight to or loop whichever specific page (or pages) you want.
Also included are Prepare Mutes, Sustain and Sostenuto pedal support, Remember Subpage and Subtrack, and more.
Impact Soundworks has introduced Shreddage 3 Electro Sitar, a new virtual instrument that they say offers “the signature sound of the psychedelic era”.
Shreddage 3 Electro Sitar features the distinctive buzzy tone and resonance of ’70s electric sitars, which come from a carefully designed bridge that the strings rest on to create the signature sitar ‘buzz’, as well as a set of harp drone strings that can resonate with the main strings or be plucked individually.
Features:
Over 31,000 24-bit samples
6 guitar strings, 15 resonating harp strings
All crucial articulations
Realistic performances through meticulous sampling
38 production-ready tone snapshots
