Sequential Fourm Offers Four-Voice Polyphony, Polyphonic Aftertouch For $999

The company’s latest release, Fourm, is a compact four-voice analogue polysynth that makes the unmistakable Sequential sound available and that distils the Prophet lineage into a more affordable price than ever before.

Sequential has introduced the Fourm, a new four-voice analog synth with polyphonic aftertouch.

It’s not only Sequential’s most affordable polyphonic synth, but the Fourm is the company’s most affordable synthesizer to date.

The Sequential Fourm is a compact, 100% analog instrument that features an “a uniquely responsive polyphonic aftertouch keyboard” It features four analog voices, derived from the iconic Prophet-5 – complete with dual oscillators, a classic 4-pole lowpass filter, and envelope curves modeled after the 1978 original. The result is classic Sequential warmth and punch, but now with overdriven feedback to expand your sound design options.

For the first time in 40 years, Sequential has returned to polyphonic aftertouch. The team developed the new Tactive slim-keys poly AT keybed to work in concert with Fourm’s analog synthesis engine. Every element was co-designed and calibrated to unlock new levels of expression.

“We’re so excited to bring this innovative all-analog keyboard into the world,” said David Gibbons, Sequential CEO. “At a price-point that most people expect to pay for a monophonic synth, we think this product will invite legions of musicians who have longed for the magic of polyphonic analog sounds to start their journey of discovery with Sequential.”

The top panel is inspired by the Pro~One, putting deep sound design at your fingertips, with no menu diving required. Modulation sources and destinations are clearly labeled, connections are made with a button press, and color-coded indicators make even complex routings easy to manage.

Some feared that Focusrite’s acquisition of Sequential might dilute the company’s innovation, but Fourm proves otherwise: it’s a democratizing release that places the hallmark Sequential sound within reach of a new generation, building on the company’s historic foundations to create an instrument that’s far more capable than its price suggests.

The Sequential Fourm is available now, priced at $999.99

New Global Settings Editor For Moog Grandmother + Matriarch

Dire Studio has introduced Mother Global Settings, a patch editor for the Moog Grandmother and Matriarch synthesizers for iPad and Mac.

Dire Studio’s Agnes Lorincz says that “This app is the best thing that can happen to a Matriarch or Grandmother user who takes his workflow seriously.”

The Mother Global Settings is an intuitive editor for Moog’s Grandmother and Matriarch synthesizers. Sporting a 500-series rack inspired control-per-function interface, it’s designed to make settings easily accessible, with two clicks/taps at maximum.

Actual values are instantly visible on the screen. Features include octave buttons to easily set and check keyboard transposition, as well as a sequence selector override for the Matriarch, letting you quickly switch to any sequence — not just adjacent ones.

Other features include separate items for oscillator frequency ranges on the Matriarch, fine grained control over MIDI output and local control, extra glide toggle and arp/seq gate length settings managed by the app and a panic button, in case the synth goes rebel.

Direct USB connection offers the fastest operation and complete auto-detection, and 5-pin MIDI support lets you integrate the app into complex studio setups.

Mother Global Settings is available now for €49.99 / $49.99, through the end of Sept 2025 (normally €79.99 / $79.99).
